ABOUT THE ARTIST
Hey everyone! My name is Wyatt Detweiler. A little about myself I was Born in northern Indiana in the year 2000. My parents moved to Michigan right after I was born. Growing up in Michigan’s lower peninsula I was surrounded with lots of woodlands and the waters of the Great Lakes. Which has had a influence on my art. I started painting when I was 13. I have always been naturally gifted as an artist, and I believe that practice makes you better at everything especially art! I am a self taught artist but I have definitely have learned a lot from other artists. Most of all from Chuck Black an artist from Montana who creates amazing art and instructional videos on Youtube. When I was 15 my parents moved My family to southwest Wisconsin. The area also is know as the Driftless area, which is a hilly and very beautiful landscape. Farming, especially dairy farming is a large part of life around the state of Wisconsin. I have worked and been around farming my whole life which is why I paint so many scenes of farming and country life. It is much easier to create art about things you see every day! Another Hobby I love is to travel and see new places, and to create art from the scenes and sight of my trips. Thanks for stopping by my website! If you had any other questions please feel free to contact me
Below I have made a list of the main things that inspire my artwork!
Travels
I love adventure and one of the best ways to find it is to travel! I love the thrill of experiencing a new place, new culture, new food, and meeting the people that call those places home! One question I get a lot is “what is your favorite place you have visited?”. Personally I don’t have a favorite, there are so many unique things about any destination that it is really hard to pick one place. I don’t always paint a picture of every place I visit, but I see things that give me ideas and inspiration for future artwork!
Agriculture
Ever since I was a young kid I was interested in farming and agriculture. I am now in my twenties and have worked in or around some form of ag ever since I was 13 working for a neighbor in the summer doing hay!
The Wild West
If you know me personally you know that I always wear a cowboy hat. I have always enjoyed the western culture. I have always felt at home in a pearl snap and a cowboy hat!
